Today I attended the J.O.Y. Christmas luncheon at church. First, we played table games while the room was being set up. This time the meal was catered. We had grilled chicken, herbed dressing, mixed sautéed vegetables, green salad and desserts. I was seated with B J Forguson (Middle School Director), Andie Stuebing (Program Associate), Margaret Crow, Bill and Anne Marie Hees and Larry and Linda Seelke.
After lunch we were entertained by Austin classical guitarist Mark Anthony Cruz. He played several pieces and then took requests. Someone requested “Malagueña” and he said that he had never learned it correctly and that he has been faking it for years. Wow! What a performance! Other guitarists should “fake it” so beautifully.
