Thursday (10/9) My mom, uncle Travis, and I departed from the Rafina port in Athens headed for the island of Mykonos. It was to be about a 3 hr ferry with a short stop on the island of Delos. We left port around 5:30 pm so were set up for a great sunset in the middle of Aegean Sea. The sunset came full of colors about 45 minutes before our stop at Delos.

We arrived on Mykonos in the port town of Hora about 9:30 and had transportation waiting to take us to Hotel Eva. Hotel Eva located in Ornos would prove to be our best accomodations through the islands. After checking in we headed towards a close beach front restaurant called Ithaki. Terry was the host at Ithaki. He would take good care of us over the next several days and I never saw him without a smile on his face...given his set up I can see why.

Friday Mom and I explored the small seaside town of Ornos before catching a bus into the main town of Hora. There were some great restaurants and shops that filled the narrow, winding streets between the waterfront. That night we would return to Hora for dinner. While walking the streets a lady named Ana attacked me. I think she thought I was some German celeb, but took a real liking to me. She tried to lure us into her French restaurant, but my mom did like the way things were going. So we continued our search for food. After 30 minutes Travis convinced us to return to Ana and her French cuisine.

I was warmly greeted by Ana upon our return and we were seated. The atmosphere was great inside, however the menu was extremely pricey.

On Saturday we decided to rent a car and explore more of the island. We went to the windy town of Panormos on the North end, Kalafati on the East, and onto the beach towns of Paradise and Platis Gialos on the southern end of Mykonos. That night Mom and I found a great beachfront restaurant, Niko's Tavern, for dinner between Ornos and Hora. Our table was about 10 yards from the crashing waves, perfect setting. We had great spicy cheese 'salad' (dip) with pita bread, which is now my favorite food in the world. Mom had grilled shrimp and I had swordfish.

Sunday was a bit of lazy day. We had a great day of sunshine, so I was a beach bum by our hotel surrounded by rocky mountains. That night we had a our last meal with Terry at Ithaki.
