Hi everyone......now in SOUTH ISLAND and its great..!

As everyone has said to us you'll love S Island and we do..... just fantastic. Weather has improved a lot but still v cold nights, so double douve has been required and lots of cuddles!

As for the old crocks well being, we're doing fine but the motorhome seems to be a little tired and knackered and definately running out of breath going uphills...... just like us! Must be the age !!!! Gail has had a drive and found it quite easy once she got over the nerves stage.

Our route from Christchurch took us via Hanmer Springs and then over Lewis Pass to another thermal spring/spar at Manuia. Quieter and not as commercialed and in real rock pools as opposed to plactic tubs at Hanmer! Wonderful setting below snow topped mountains...great.

Stayed / camped here for thew night before moving on to Nelson Lakes , with crystal clear waters and almost cloudless skies. Then onto towards Blenhein and up to Nelson.

Next camp was at Pelorus Bridge an hour short of Nelson..... fantastic place, a DOC location, camp site in forest, beautifully maintained...( put Malcolm to shame JCC members note). Site run by Stef and Nobby, great folk, invited us in for coffee as they wanted to know/learn all about UK as will be visiting next year and have agreed to stay with us for a while.

Surrounding forest had hundreds, probably thousands, of glow worms...... wonderful site to see in such a natural environment.

Stayed here 2 nights. On second day drov out to Marlborough Sounds area / Queen Charlotte's Track, justy marvellous scenery everywhere, and not sure where to look first.

Arrived at Kaiteriteri neat to Abel Tasman National Park on Sunday evening. Been here now for 2 days. Managed to get a pitch on site, right at the front over looking to sea. The sea area here is also a Marine reserve. Wonderful views of course everywhere.

Took Water Taxis boat up coast yesterday, saw dolphines/seals enroute. Walked back part of way along coast line and in thick/lush forest and were picked up later by taxi again and brought back to camp site.

Weather pretty good but cloudier today and storms forcast for later in the day.

Today we're off very soon on our first bike ride.... so that should be good also.

Photos to follow as no facillities here to offload photos from camera.

More to follow on last couple of days around Westport and Karamea caves..... off to Glaciers now!
