Cordoba - Mezquita Outside

Cordoba - Mezquita Inside

Days 1-2, Cordoba:

Our primary goal in Cordoba was to visit the Mezquita. The Mezquita was originally a mosque built by the Muslim rulers in 785, and was expanded by subsequent Muslim rulers over the next few hundred years. When the Christians ultimately took over Cordoba in the 13th century they declared the Mezquita a cathedral and eventually built a physical cathedral right in the middle of the building. The inside of the Mezquita was awesome and totally worth the side trip. After a couple of days in Cordoba we caught a night train to Barcelona (where we are now).
