Time to bring our fellow followers up to date on where we are and how it went getting here. First off let me start by saying Tom and I had no idea just how hard it would be letting go of our home of 20 years, our belongings and saying goodbye to family and friends. On the positive side of this we can come back to visit anytime we want too. Advise to share from this experience less is more and start sooner than later downsizing you’ll be happy you did.

Our home went on the market and within three days we were under contract. A process that usually takes several weeks turned into a few days and we found ourselves under the gun so to speak with scrambling to finish all our last minute packing and preparing to leave. This is when the whirlwind began. Everything happened so fast we were left to scramble to keep up. Our plans of leaving around Oct 6 were also thrown a curve ball (all good) when U-Haul offers us a 50% discount on our rental if we could rent our truck in September…. No brainer we took the offer and saved a ton of money and packed for two days and left Oct 2 with everything in tow. Our trip down was fantastic great weather and even the traffic cooperated nicely. We were very glad we decided to make it a two day stop over and arrived the third day with energy left to get our storage rented and unpacked the van. The next afternoon with the help of some very dear friends Ed & Pam Pembroke we finished unpacking the big truck, but not before having a wonderful tail gate lunch of Margherita Pizza ( fresh tomato’s basil garlic mozzarella) many thanks to Ed & Pam for making a daunting task much more enjoyable than it could have been.

We are settling nicely and sorting out our motorhome items/condo items and getting ready to have our service on the motorhome setup, looking into new tires, and in between meeting with friends and getting in some time to enjoy our walks on the beach. We plan to be here until the end of November and will head south to Florida for our winter stay over while our condo is rented. We also have some celebrating to do while in SC looking forward to meeting up with some other RV friends heading our way, and throwing in a birthday celebration (mine) and our anniversary. Very busy Oct ahead but all good and exciting.

Signing off now and will post again as we get closer to our departure time.

Take care fellow followers and have a wonderful fall month and always remember to be kind, caring, and helpful…..

Safe travels to our RV friends who will be heading out soon themselves…

Love to All,
