Our journey from Gaffney to Summerton, SC encompassed 180 miles of almost all I-85, I-26, and I-95, all of which were very busy which made for a tiresome drive, especially since we didn't leave the Freightliner Service Center until 2:00 p.m.
It took Freightliner six hours, including lunch time, to change all fluids and filters in the Mothership - coolant, transmission, engine oil, oil and fuel filter, differential, as well as air filter and air dryer overhaul. The annual service on the generator was also performed and they changed both the engine fan belt and the water pump belt. It wasn't inexpensive but hopefully it may prevent a roadside breakdown in the future.
We are staying at the Palmetto Shores RV Resort
just a few miles north of the I-26/I-95 intersection near Santee, SC. We have a very nice, long, pull-through with 50 amps and full hookup. It is a little off level but was close enough for our jacks to level us easily. Our site would be very nice to spend some time as it is the end site and includes a large area on our right side with fire pit, barbecue post and picnic table.
Tomorrow, we hope to make it back to home and see just how much damage IRMA did to our cypress fence.
