From our Campsite

Pemberton to Lillooet Drive

Lots of hair pin turns

June 14

A cold and rainy day as we head from Squamish to Whistler. Can’t see the mountain tops for clouds. From there we traveled only another 30 KMs to Nairn Falls just south of Pemberton. We did the short hike to the falls. Walking was very wet and slippery on the rocks. This part of British Columbia boasts the only Boa Constrictor in Canada called a Rubber Boa. Who knew! We are parked right beside the Green River for the night. Water is rushing past our site just a few meters from where I write but it is cold enough to wear my headband, scarf and gloves.

A beautiful drive from Pemberton to Lillooet through some spectacular scenery. Green fast flowing rivers and snow covered mountains. In some places the snow line was only about 200 meters above us as we drove through a canyon. We must have stopped a half dozen times taking pictures.
