Our trip from Montgomery, AL to the Marine Corp Logistics Base Albany just east of Albany, GA was an easy 167 miles, mostly on US 82 which was two-lane through most of Alabama and then mostly four-lane through GA. It was tree-lined most of the way with an occasional cotton field, some picked, some begging to be picked.
We are staying at the MCLB Albany RV Park
on the base which has 20 sites, all but about three being used by semi-permanent residents. It is a very nice park with large, tall pines throughout the park. We have a 50 amp, full hookup pull-through with a concrete patio. Fortunately the trees are tall enough for the satellite to come through under them and we have good Verizon.
We spent our time here visiting with long-time friends from my first career in the US Navy. It was good to see them again and break bread much too much for my waistline. But when the food is so good, what are you to do???
Tomorrow we head out the last leg of this year's trip and will arrive at our home in the early afternoon. It's been a great Summer and we have enjoyed the trip very much - thanks for coming along.
I will post our final expense report once I have had enough time to tabulate it.
