Winnie at Shenandoah River Campground

Christmas at Shenandoah River

We left home this morning at about 1000. Getting Ringo into Winnie wasn't as difficult as I though it might. Once Sue got him out of the carrier and gave him a few kitty treats, he was under the covers on the bed in his normal position. He stayed there until we got to Shenandoah Valley Campground. We stayed here a couple of years ago on the way to NC for an Escapees rally over Easter break. They have these giant domestic bunnies that have the run of the place. When I drove into the campground I was surprised at how crowded it was. I was worried that I might not get a spot and have to drive on. When I got to the office, I found out it was Christmas in May. I made my way to site 99 and parked. The campground is loaded with kids. A few of the camp sites have Christmas decorations. I wish I had know, I would have brought the Christmas lights for Winnie.

The only problem we ran into on the route was a traffic jam on I695 north of Baltimore. I'm not sure what was causing it because rather wait in the traffic I decided to turn around and head the other direction on 695 and cross the Key Bridge to the east of Baltimore. No traffic in that direction. Not sure it was any quicker, but at least I didn't have to crawl in traffic and get hot. Not much to see today as our route was along the interstates today. Stay tuned.
