As the title suggests, we left Delaware a week late to avoid the really cold weather that we had this past week. Oh well, I'm sure it won't be the last cold weather over the next couple of months. We loaded up and left home about 1:00PM, about 2 hours later than I would have liked but I won't get into that. Surprisingly there was little trauma for Ringo. We were able to load him into his carrier with little trouble and when I let him out in Winnie, he went to one of his usual places in the corner of the bedroom. Once we started up, he went under the covers for the trip.

Today's route took us down the Delmarva Peninsula instead of I95. I don't like I95 as there is generally too much truck traffic and too much traffic in general around Baltimore and Washington, DC. We ended up at Cherrystone Family Camping Resort in Cheriton, VA. Sue's brother used to keep a trailer here a long time ago. I'm sure Traci and Rob will remember spending time here as kids during summer vacations. We arrived after dark and Ringo came out from under the covers to re-familiarize himself with Winnie. Since we are right on the Chesapeake Bay, I decided to try to get some night pictures of the bay from one of the docks. Not as good as I would have liked. It was too cold to stand outside.

Our route tomorrow will take us through the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. The downside of this route comes in if the weather is bad, i.e. windy and snowy or rainy. I think we will be okay, but we'll find out tomorrow. Stay tuned.
