vs Biella

Oropa Sanctuary

Thursday

It seems as though the team has dealt with traveling and jet lag extremely well.

After a light training session in the morning at the Biella Football Club stadium, the team rested in the afternoon before returning there to take on Biella FC in a friendly.

We played 3 periods of 30 minutes each allowing the staff to play all players a minimum of 60 minutes. It was refreshing to see 30 continuous minutes without substitutions breaking up the rhythm. Rhythm is a good word for this Region 1 team. After dominating the first period and creating numerous chances the team finally was rewarded late in the period when Kevin Coleman hit perfectly placed first time shot off an excellent pull back pass from his striking partner Sean Tiexeira.

Midway into the second period it was Mason Deeds with a heads up play as he took a restart fast and caught the Biella defense unprepared. Tiexeira was on the recieving end of this pass and he turn and drilled a second range shot just inside the post for a 2-0 lead.

Early in the 3rd period Biella got e goal back and pressed us bit at the end, but Region 1 stayed focused and finished with a convincing 2-1 victory. Andrew Romig Zach McMurrer played solid in the nets splitting time.

The team packs up and head to the site of the main event- the Trofeo Piccole Grandi tournament in Mondovi.

Updates will continue as Internet as the new hotel permits. First game of the tournament is Saturday evening.

All the players remain healthy and looking strong!
