The Cicadas are in full force. They are LOUD!

After almost 10 months of cancer treatments and doctor appointments we are finally on the road west! Our first stop was 2 nights at Six Mile Creek, a Corps of Engineers Park on the Alabama River near Selma, AL. It was nice and quiet - just what we needed! Our site was on a little branch of the river. The Corps of Engineers raise and lower the river so sometimes it was low with mud banks showing, sometimes it was high. When the water was low we watched an Egret and a Great Blue Heron looking for food. Blondie enjoyed going on walks through the campground.

The weather has gotten warmer already. We had sunny days and the temperature was in the 70's during the day, 50's at night. We got diesel in Selma for $3.999 per gallon.

All in all it was a good way to start the trip.
