The decision to wait for the exciting weather to pass by seems to have paid off. We drove through scattered showers and the thermometer kept dropping, but the drive was uneventful. Just the way we like it! Only some of the temperature change can be blamed on the fact that we are headed north. The front that brought all that rain was a cold one and certainly must have dropped a load of water around here. As we drove past the flat, flooded fields, it felt like we were back in the bayous of Louisiana. Our campground has a nature trail that can only be followed by canoe. Many of the trees here have leaves; some still have nothing but aspirations. We have left the you-alls and other Southern expressions and are back where people speak properly. If only the gas prices were more southern...
