Tiny Airstreams on their way to find new owners

Down the Texas highway

Our campsite at Buck Creek Campground

Beware!

Sunset at Buck Creek Campground

Pulled out of Texas Trails RV Park at 10:40 on our way to Abilene, TX. Another easy drive under overcast skies. Skirted around the southern side of Dallas with no problems (thank goodness!) and on through Arlington and finally, Ft. Worth. It seemed like just one big, long city. Back in the country again…cactus, some ranches, one “ghost” town, lots of flat, open spaces.

Texas sure doesn’t waste any land on their rest areas. No separate parking for trucks/RVs and cars…just parallel parking along the 3-lane wide drive in and out. I avoid parallel parking with the truck so there was no way I was going to attempt it with the truck AND trailer. Found a wider section of drive where I could just pull next to another truck. That worked.

Arrived at the Buck Creek RV Park at 3:10 p.m.

Another nice unpretentious park on top of a plateau with very long, very level pull-thru sites. On our way in the road from the highway, we saw at least 100 wind turbines far in the distance. I wish we were able to stay a bit longer to explore the area more. Absolutely beautiful sunset out my window this evening.
