We said our goodbyes to everyone and got on the road a little after 10:00. The trip was uneventful until we got close to Ashevelle and the rain started coming down in buckets. It was pouring when we got to the campground to check in. We were both soaked to the skin by the time we got everything set up. The rain finally stopped and we were able to enjoy the magnificent view of the mountains from our site.
If you are a fellow RV'er, we are staying at Campfire Lodgings in Asheville. It is one of the nicest campgrounds we have ever been to. The grounds are immaculate and the owners are very nice and helpful. There are tent sites scattered through the woods, not jammed up next to each other like many campgrounds. There are also Yurts.
