Host sites at Crissey Field

We are half-way through our month at Crissey Field in Brookings, OR. What a beautiful place to "work". We arrived here about a week early and enjoyed two weeks of blue skies and sunshine. Unfortunately, the last week has been very wet and windy at times. Although we are anxious to dry out, the forecast is for more rain over the next 7-10 days.

Last week we took a drive up the coast to Coos Bay and back. We visited 5 other Oregon State Parks and chatted with park rangers and volunteer hosts in those parks. It gave us a good opportunity to check out possible future hosting spots. As a result, we will probably be giving tours at the Coquille River Lighthouse at Bullards Beach State Park in Bandon, OR in August and September of 2010 as we make our way south to California. The ranger there should be sending us a confirmation letter within the next few months. We will keep you posted on that assignment as well as the others we are negotiating for our return from British Columbia.

Until next time...

Scotty & Kris
