Our first port of call was Hilo, on the big island. This island is very lush and green. It receives about 300 inches of rain per year. Boyd and I didn't have a shore excursion today, so we just took a free shuttle bus from the harbor into town and walked around a little. We weren't all that impressed with the downtown area of Hilo...looked like it could use a little revitalization. It was beautiful day, though, so we enjoyed it.
Later in the afternoon and back on board the ship, our tour company had set up a cocktail party for us in the Medusa Lounge, so we all met there for a few drinks, then headed for the buffet! Boyd & I skipped the show on this night. The showroom is all the way forward in the ship, so there's lots of movement up there. I had a little trouble with that last night and didn't want a repeat.
