We left in good weather from home on Friday, 1/11, and got as far as Carlisle, PA before dark, where we found an "open-year-around" full hook-up campground.
Next day, we took I-81 all the way to southern Virginia, found the campground we thought was open to actually be closed, so we stayed in a Comfort Inn near Mount Airy, NC. (A note from the small world department - we were in a rest area just into North Carolina trying to figure out where to stay since the campground was closed, when a man walked up to the window, and he looked familiar. "Did we meet you in Alaska?", he said. Yes, we had - at Milepost 0 on the Alaska Highway in Dawson Creek, BC (Canada). They were on their way up, and we were going towards home. They are from Rochester!)
