Sunshine in Alice Lake

Sad Bowie

June 13

Not quite the start to our trip that we hoped. First task was to get Bowie to the vet to look at a rash on his skin…a few hundred dollars later armed with antibiotics and cortisone cream, we were off at 10 am. The trip really started once we arrived at the Departure Bay terminal in Nanaimo. We squeezed on as one of the last cars for the 12:50 sailing. Once in Horseshoe Bay we were surprised to find traffic light heading to Squamish. Even the short drive on this section of the Sea to Sky hwy is so spectacular with intermittent sunshine on the water turning it emerald greeny/blue. Alice Lake Provincial Park is our first stop and as with most of our Provincial Parks there are many well marked trails to follow. Ours took us around Stump Lake…first lesson of the trip is always take a camera with you when you go walking. Sun has come out and the site we have is beautiful.
