Well we are on the road. Had planned to leave around 8 in the morning, so of course we pulled out about 10 or so. We’ve gone from Nashville to Fort Smith Arkansas where we camped at Lake Fort Smith. We had a couple of stops along the way when Cameron saw some cool markings in grass on the side of the road proving there’s still a photographer in there somewhere. We also pulled off the road at an overlook that seemed to look over the interstate to a lake across the way. It was less than exciting but Cameron’s name was written on the picnic table so I guess we were supposed to stop there.
As we got closer to the state park where we were camping for the night, Cameron decided to trust the navigation system over the numerous signs pointing us toward the state park. Although we did get to see a beaver and a fox on Cameron’s route, I was seriously contemplating the power the navigation system seems to hold over men as we were driving down the gravel road (which was awesome, 4 or 5 miles of one lane gravel and a steep incline as I assume we were desending the side of an Ozark. Missed the jeep-cc) in the middle of nowhere. We finally arrived at the campsite and got everything set up for the night. I think Cameron may have been a little scared of dinner, but he survived.
We will be heading across Oklahoma next to get to Palo Duro State Park in Texas.
