It's not as simple as "jump in the motor home and drive away". Today's schedule went like this:
- take the toad and get the motor home
- fill motor home with gas (Calgary prices are cheaper than Saskatoon); check all mechanical and electrical systems
- toad goes to Costco & grocery store to pick up weekend steaks and other fixin's
- wash outside and clean inside (it gets dirty when its in storage)
- extend slides to get access to all the cupboards
- load food, clothing and gadgets and gizmos (computer, camera, etc.)
- load dog equipment (leashes, food, treats)
- load boys stuff
- make sure all paperwork is in motor home since we're going to the USA (passports, dogs papers, etc.)
- review border crossing rules and confirm that food and dogfood will either be eaten before the border or will be allowed across
- etc. etc. ad infinitum...ad nauseum...
...and we don't leave until tomorrow!
