Hello Friends!! I have decided to keep a trip journal to remember this life changing trip that I am about to embark upon. I say life changing because I believe that living in a different country, in a different culture for an extended peroid of time will change my perspective on the way I see life in general; especially here in the states. This is the first long extended trip I have ever taken out of the country (not counting my birth in Singapore) and not to mention alone! I am excited to take this leap, which is huge for me, and I am taking it in faith. Though I will be alone, without friends and family (until I meet people), I know God is always with me no matter where I am or where I go and I take comfort in that! Though I have fears and reservations about traveling over to South Africa - the excitement and knowledge of what I will get to experience, learn and take away from this trip, extremely out weights my fears and reservations. Scared is not in my vocabulary, exuberant is how I would describe how the state of my heart in the anticipation of take this trip.
