Rudy & Linda travel blog
It is a pleasure to have you visit our journal. As we live our adventure, Linda will do the posting with memory jolts, some photography and internet assistance from Rudy.

We both grew-up in small towns in South Texas and were married in 1966. The majority of the last 42 years we have lived in the blue-collar, working class community of Texas City, TX just south of Houston. It was here that we were blessed with and raised our wonderful son and daughter.

Lance and his wife Amy now live in Spring, TX and our daughter April resides in Houston. My mother and step-father live in Bryan, TX and I have a brother and his family living in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. My sister and her husband are retired and living in California with their family. Rudy has a brother and his wife who are also retired and living in Canyon Lake, TX.

Camping was always a part of our lives when our children were younger but was limited to weekend and vacation trips. We have had several recreational vehicles from pop-ups to 5th wheel trailers. It was in 2000 that we started our camping adventure again in earnest now that our children were gone from home and it was just the two of us.

We have spent most of our leisure time in Texas State Parks and have taken some extended vacation time in Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi and Louisiana. Rudy has always held the dream of "Fulltiming" when we both retired, but I always wanted that "Home Base - Stick House" security to fall back on.

My "Stick Home" mentality began to wane when I found two journals on this website in late 2006. It was their enthusiasim and encouragement in the journal entries that made me realize that you owed it to yourself to live your dreams and life was more than just "stuff" stored in closets and under beds in your home.

So it was in February 2007, I told Rudy it was time to start planning and preparing to become "Fulltime RVers". I was already retired and Rudy had the date of 12/31/07 as his retirement date.

The first few entries in our journal will be a synopsis of our preparations, concerns and excitement toward our dream. Our target date for our first travel adventure was March 6, 2008.

We hope that you will share your thoughts with us via the guestbook and enjoy our postings enough to request updates of our journal entries.

Fasten your seatbelts and enjoy the ride as we live our dream of "FULLTIMING"
