Texas Hill Country Our Second Home

Richard travel blog
Welcome to my trip journal! I will be leaving Ohio about November 1 2014 and sitting up winter camp at the Rio Raft Guadalupe RV Resort in Sattler Texas. That will be the base of operation as we travel the backroads of Texas Hill Country.

The fall weather in Ohio has been beautiful, but like all the other years Fall turns to Winter and the sunshine falls behind the clouds. I called Texas and they are having beautiful sunny days and cool nights. Typical Hill Country weather.

This trip we will be exploring the Heart of Texas. The Texas Hill Country has sweeping panoramic views that just seem to go on forever. Sunrises and sunsets are majestic and it is so nice to have the pleasure of knowing you’re in a place like no other. The Texas Hill Country covers over 10,000 square miles. Much of the Hill Country has a architecture created by the German Immigrants as well as the early Alamo old Style Southern and Mexican influence architecture. These historic places are touched by all the Texas Wild Lands that you have heard so much about.

Again this year we hope to visit parts of the Hill Country that we have never seen before. I have plenty of time to explore. I can say the final stop in Hill Country will be the Cowboy Capital of the World Bandera Texas. (population 876 folks)

Thanks for riding along with us. This will be my first RV Trip anywhere without a German Shepherd Dog riding along with us. Like the rest of life, we have to work with the circumstances that we have been dealt.

Have a great week

Rick
