Doug's Run For The Wall trip 2014

Welcome to my trip journal!
For those of you who are not familiar with this event, The RUN FOR THE WALL, it is a motorcycle ride from S. California to the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, DC. It is VETERANS SUPPORTING VETERANS and over the years has become one of the largest motorcycle events in history.
This opportunity came about through quick thinking by my nephews Mike Piazza and Steve Prater when their Harley-Davidson group needed a chase-car driver for the 2014 RFTW. They quickly volunteered me for the job. Then they asked me if I wanted to make the trip. At first I hesitated because I had other things on the calendar for those dates but after thinking it over I reconsidered and committed to go. This would be (for me) a once in a lifetime event. I would be driving a pickup and cargo trailer belonging to the Lone Wolf H-D dealer in Spokane Valley, WA from Spokane to Rancho Cucamonga, CA to Washington, DC and back to Spokane. My task is to support the Lone Wolf riders in case of breakdown, picking them up and delivering them to the nearest H-D dealer for repairs.
I hope I can share with you, through this journal, some of the highlights of my trip.
