Cody's Travels 2012 |

Welcome to my trip journal!
Thank you for inquiring about how I am doing. I appreciate any support even if it just means you have updated yourself on my whereabouts enough to be able to stop me before I enter a long dragged out story the next time we meet.
This is my first time writing any type of blog about my travels. I have also never been incredibly successful in English classes. For these reasons I ask for the reader for a certain degree of leniency with any grammar related issues. I do not need anyone to tell me I'm not the second coming of Shakespeare.
Now to get to the point. I am currently on a year off and I have worked since last April doing different jobs associated with the outdoors. These jobs have ranged from tree planter, camp staff to Slash Pile Igniter. Not the most typical career options to say the least. In between January and April I had some free time and a little bit of cash so I chose to opt out of working and switched it for backpacking. My first stop is Edmonton to complete a fitness test as well as an interview for forest fire fighting in the summer. After that I will be heading directly down to Colombia to complete a trip from Bogota North through Venezuela. I will be gone there approximately 6 weeks and returning in mid march.
This will be my second time backpacking in South America and expectations are high. Seeing as there are a lot of updates that have been requested of me I decided to try out a blog and answer everyone's curiosity at once. I will be trying to update this relatively frequently once there's something interesting to report. If you are still interested feel free to read on and hopefully enjoy. I will not be able to update the photos just so you all know.
