Welcome to our "Boomer & Friends 2012" Summer Trip Journal! Exciting times are on the horizon as we finalize our traveling plans for the Summer of 2012.
This year we plan to "pick-up" where we left off from last year, joining our friends, Ron and Patty Burkett for this years' summer journey. Let's not forget "Charlie" the Shitzu who is our Mascot and also this year, Patti's sister, Barbara will be traveling with them in their coach.
We plan on visiting some of our favorite places from last years' trip and of course adding a number of "new" destinations to our itinerary. In addition to many NEW destinations, we are also happy to have Jim and Linda Elkins traveling along with us in their Brand New 31' Class C Motor Home. Jim is Patti (Burkett’s) brother and having Jim and Linda traveling with us will make this summer even more enjoyable.
While our ultimate destinations are "always" subject to change, we will be able to add or delete stops and side trips as we travel down the highways and byways of this beautiful country.
Our first stop is “of course” the Great State of Maine, Toni has already told me that Maine is NOT subject to change and remains our favorite place to spend our summers in the RV. After visiting Boothbay, Camden and Bar Harbor, Maine we will head to 1,000 Islands and Upstate New York. Then on to Niagra Falls, Canada. As we leave Niagra Falls we will drive on Canada Highway 401 to Detroit, MI on our way to Macinac Island and the Grand Hotel.
As we leave Michigan, we will head west and hopefully spend time at Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Reno, Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas then on down to Sedona and Jerome, Arizona before heading home.
As we have in previous years, we hope that you will again join us VIA the internet and our "Boomer & Friends 2012" Trip Journal.
