Craig and Jeanne's South American Intrepid Adventure 2009

Welcome to our trip journal! Jeanne and I have always loved the outdoors and travel. We have been on organized trips to Croatia and the Big Island with REI, but nothing like this trip which is 85 days in South America. We will start in Ecuador where we will travel to the Amazon Jungle, then on to Peru including a four day hike to Machu Picchu,, Bolivia, Argentina, Chile, back to Argentina, Uruguay then "maybe" Brazil (if we can get a Visa and fall within the 90 day requirement). We will also be visiting friends in Chile.

The trip is organized by Intrepid Travels and will be very basic including public bus, camping, hostels and 2-3 star hotels. We are excited to meet travelers and friends from all walks of life.

We want to thank everyone who has offered their encouragement and support for our adventure. Along with this trip ,Craig when we return, will be volunteering with the Red Cross this summer then going back to school to begin his second career. Jeanne's work is gracious enough to let her take a LOA -THANK YOU. This trip and life changing new beginning is a dream for us, to explore and get us out of "traditional" comfort zone.

Update: I am back in school full time and loving it- Craig. Jeanne is back at work helping treat children with Physical Therapy needs.
