Sharon & Jon travel blog
These entries tell of our travel adventures for 2017 – our thirteenth year.
We spent most of January and February in the Pacific Northwest while Jon recovered from his back surgery which took place last December. Of course, we visited with daughter Shari and grandson Trevor and his family whenever possible and made our annual pilgrimage to North Idaho to visit family and friends.
We all know that maintaining a house takes attention, time, patience, and a few bucks. Put it on wheels and bounce it down the road, and you can multiply all that by a bunch. That has been a significant amount of time and money this year.
In spite of setbacks, we have been well traveled this year – 17 states, 9 National Park Service sites, and 5 state capitols. We spent two months volunteering at Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge (our second year there); we spent a month in Colorado; we made a side trip to Wisconsin to visit Jon’s sister; we traveled the Great River Road down the Mississippi River from St. Louis to New Orleans where we spent the Christmas and New Year holiday season with son Jon, Jr.
